What We Do

Our Mission

Mic Albion is a public benefit corporation focused on applied metaphysics and modeling the causation of existence using evidence based, independently replicable, and universally applicable first principles. Our belief is that if we can find a foundational and verifiable explanation for our existence, it would reveal the immediately inferable and self-correcting solutions to many of the challenges faced by humanity.

Of all present and historical explanations for our existence, we believe that only one has the potential to meet those three first principle criteria, astrology. Although it has been widely regarded as pseudoscience, astrology, which claims that there is a measurable pattern between human conscious behavior and the position or influence of celestial objects, can provide an objectively testable validity, by anyone on Earth, and in such a way as to explain our larger observable universe.

Problems & Opportunity

When looking at the existing scientific testing of astrology, I noticed two main faults, one on each side of the argument.

The first is that most astrologers are focused on the “woo-woo” side of astrology in that there is a heavy emphasis on personal horoscopes and relationship synastry. Of the few with an adequate level of advanced knowledge on the subject, none have been able to solve what is considered the “hard problem of astrology” in finding a plausible biological mechanism responsible for such a phenomenon.

The second is that, of the scientific community who has the capability to find such a mechanism, none have approached the subject with both scientific curiosity and intellectual honesty.

For example, the existing studies on the subject such as Carlson 1985, McGrew/McFall 1990, and even Greenberg 2024 from this past summer, all approach the subject using human perceptual ability tests. A perception test is a one-sided test. If confirmed, it can give plausibility (without causation). However, a negative result fails to disprove the underlying claim. To illustrate, a negative perception test would fail to disprove the existence of high pitch sounds or ultraviolet light.

In each astrological examination, none of the scientists approached the subject using an objective based metric, because none had taken the time to truly understand the claims of astrology enough to theorize what systems would need to exist for astrology to be true. That’s where Mic Albion and I come in and believe we have an advantage.
